Chhattisgarh Encounter: Security forces in Chhattisgarh have intensified their operations against Naxalites, achieving a major success. In two separate encounters, 22 Naxalites were gunned down in Bijapur and Kanker districts. However, one security personnel lost his life during the operation. The search operation in both areas is still ongoing, with a significant cache of weapons recovered from the encounter sites.
Fierce Action Against Naxalites in Bijapur
A joint team of security forces, including the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), launched an operation against Maoists in the dense forests near the Bijapur-Dantewada border. During the operation, a fierce gunfight erupted between the Maoists and security personnel. As per official reports, 18 Naxalites were neutralised in this encounter.
Unfortunately, the security forces also suffered a loss, with one DRG soldier martyred during the gun battle. The operation continues as forces comb the area for any remaining insurgents and additional arms and ammunition.
Four Maoists Eliminated in Kanker Encounter
In a separate operation in Kanker district, four Naxalites were killed in an encounter near Koroskodo village in Chhote Bethiya. Security forces have been conducting multiple operations in recent months, successfully neutralising several Naxalites who posed a threat to the region’s stability.
Authorities confirmed that a large number of weapons and ammunition were recovered from the encounter sites, strengthening the ongoing crackdown on Naxalite activities in the region.
Security Forces' Continued Crackdown on Naxalism
The security forces have been conducting strategic operations to curb Naxal influence in Chhattisgarh. Over the past few months, several high-profile encounters have taken place, leading to the elimination of key Naxalite leaders and cadres. Despite facing continuous threats, security personnel remain committed to restoring peace in the region.
It is important to note that Naxalites have frequently ambushed security convoys in the past, leading to significant casualties. However, with intensified intelligence-based operations, security forces are successfully countering the insurgents and dismantling their networks.
