Punjab News: In a major success under CM Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, Punjab Police, in a joint operation by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Faridkot Police, arrested gangster Manpreet Singh, alias Manni. The arrest followed a brief exchange of fire in Faridkot, where Manni, an operative of foreign-based gangster Gaurav alias Lucky Patyal and the Davinder Bambiha gang, attempted to evade capture.

Manni was wanted in multiple crimes, including a recent murder in Kapura village, Moga, on 19 February 2025, and a firing incident at Raja Dhabha, Jagraon, on 26 February 2025. The Punjab government, led by Bhagwant Mann, has been taking strict action to eliminate organised crime, and this arrest is another step towards ensuring public safety.

Three Arrested, Gangster Shot in Retaliatory Fire

During the operation, Manni fired at the police team in an attempt to escape. In retaliation, the police responded, and he sustained a bullet injury in his left leg. He was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital for medical treatment. Along with him, two of his accomplices, who had provided him shelter, were also arrested.

This development comes just two days after a similar joint operation by AGTF and Moga Police led to the arrest of Manni’s co-accused, Malkit alias Manu. The police have recovered a .30 calibre pistol along with five live cartridges from the arrested gangster.

Punjab Government’s Firm Stand Against Crime

Under CM Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling gangster networks and ensuring public safety. The recent crackdown highlights the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards organised crime. Further investigations are ongoing, and more arrests are expected in the coming days.
