CM Bhagwant Mann’s Punjab Police Achieves Major Success
The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Punjab Police made the arrests in Amritsar as part of a carefully planned operation. Based on accurate information, the AGTF arrested the two suspects, who were later named as key members of the Lawrence Bishnoi crime family, which is notorious for extortion, murder, and trafficking weapons.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has always pushed for a policy of “zero tolerance” for organized crime. After the arrests, Mann wrote on social media, “Punjab Police is committed to making the state crime-free.” This action shows that we are determined to break up criminal networks.
Four Pistols and Several Other Weapons Recovered
Police have recovered four pistols along with several other weapons from the two accused. According to the information shared, the seizure includes four pistols (.32 bore), one pistol (.30 bore), and five additional magazines. Further investigation is underway to uncover the entire network.
Punjab Police emphasized that they are committed to dismantling organized crime networks and ensuring the safety of citizens. The government of CM Bhagwant Mann highlighted that due to its strong decisions, there has been a consistent decline in drug trafficking cases across the state.
Making law enforcement stronger
CM Mann said that the government will give the Punjab Police cutting-edge tools and technology. The suspects who were caught are being questioned to find out more about their friends, where they got their weapons, and what they planned to do. Raids are being done by the cops to catch other gang members and get more weapons. The Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have both been used to file a case.
