Pravesh Verma – A Strong Jat Leader

Pravesh Verma is considered one of the most influential Jat leaders. He has strong connections with rural areas, which helped BJP in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. His influence contributed to BJP’s victory in all seven seats in Outer Delhi.

Because of this, Pravesh Verma is currently the front-runner for the position of Delhi CM. Additionally, he is known to be close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. However, a big question remains—is Pravesh Verma relevant among BJP’s Delhi leaders?

Satish Upadhyay – An Experienced Brahmin Leader

The second name being discussed in the CM race is Satish Upadhyay. Being a Brahmin leader and having vast experience in Delhi politics could work in his favor.

Satish Upadhyay has served as the President of Delhi BJP and has also been the President of the Delhi BJP Youth Wing. Additionally, he has experience working with NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) as its Vice Chairman.

He has played a key role in strengthening BJP’s organisational structure and has taken on several important responsibilities. He was also the Co-Incharge of Madhya Pradesh during the assembly elections. He is considered close to the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and has administrative experience as well.

Rekha Gupta – A Potential Woman CM Candidate

The demand for a woman Chief Minister in Delhi has been growing, especially since there is currently no female CM in any BJP-ruled state. By selecting a woman CM for Delhi, BJP could put an end to these discussions.

One of the strongest contenders is Rekha Gupta, who won the Shalimar Bagh assembly seat by defeating AAP’s Vandana Kumari by 29,595 votes.

Rekha Gupta’s connection with RSS makes her a strong candidate for the CM position. She has a long political career and could be a top choice for BJP’s leadership. She belongs to the Baniya community, the same as former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
