On the auspicious occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated Water ATMs in Shalimar Bagh, dedicating them to the public as part of the government’s mission to ensure access to pure and clean drinking water for every citizen in the national capital.
In her address, CM Gupta emphasized that the initiative is part of the ongoing expansion of clean water infrastructure across the city. “We are committed to making clean drinking water accessible to all residents of Delhi, and these Water ATMs are a step in that direction,” she said.
Laptops for 1,200 Class 10 Toppers
Along with the inauguration, CM Rekha Gupta also announced that 1,200 toppers of Class 10 will be gifted laptops to support their academic journey and empower them to explore new avenues in education.
“This is not just a reward for academic excellence but also a tool to open doors to a better future,” she added.
The event was also attended by Cabinet Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh, who lauded the initiative and reaffirmed the government's commitment to youth empowerment and public welfare.
“These laptops will serve as companions in their academic journey, enabling them to unlock their potential and explore a world of knowledge,” the Chief Minister said. She added that academic merit must be nurtured with tangible support, especially in today’s digital age.
A Joint Effort for Delhi’s Progress
The event also saw the presence of Delhi Cabinet Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh, who praised the initiatives and reaffirmed the government's commitment to holistic public welfare. “From clean water to quality education, we are working to ensure every citizen of Delhi lives with dignity and opportunity,” he said.
The government plans to expand the reach of both Water ATMs and education support schemes in the coming months, focusing on underserved areas and economically weaker sections.
