Delhi Schools Bomb Threats: Hoax ? Evacuated Amid Bomb Threat Emails, Parents Panic, Tension Builds Up

Several Delhi schools, including DPS Dwarka, were evacuated on Monday morning after receiving bomb threat emails, sparking panic among parents and students.

New Delhi, August 18, 2025: A panic-stricken atmosphere gripped the national capital this morning as bomb threat emails were sent to several schools, including Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka. The bomb threats led to the swift evacuations and searches of the schools, as well as panic among students, parents, and staff.

Evacuations and Rapid Response

Around 7 a.m., authorities at DPS Dwarka called the police to report an email received claiming that explosives were present on the premises. More specifically, the email claimed that explosives were planted at the school. Within minutes, responders from the Delhi Police, Fire Department, Bomb Disposal Squad, and dog squads were on the scene. All students and staff were evacuated safely, and the campus was locked down while precautionary measures were taken. Two other schools, Modern Convent School and ShreeRam World School, located in Dwarka Sector 10, also received emails alerting them to similar threats, leading the schools to evacuate. Parental arrival on scene was strong; several parents created panic, similar to previous tragedies.

No Explosives Found So Far

After hours of extensive search operations, authorities have stated that no suspicious items have been recovered. Although the authorities feel strongly that this is a hoax, they still emphasized that any alert such as this must be taken seriously. “At this point, nothing dangerous has surfaced yet. We will continue to investigate these emails and the originating address or domain,” said a senior.

A Series of Hoax Threats

This is not the first such incident. In July, over 50 schools and several colleges in Delhi received similar bomb threat emails, which were later discovered to be false. Earlier this month, similarly fake bomb threats were made against the Navy Children School, CRPF Public School, and several others. In one case, the fake emails were traced to a 12-year-old, using a German domain provider.

Safety First, Parents Are Worried

The erratic threats and fakers have caused parents to become concerned. Parents want stricter action taken against these internet neighbours and want increased support for campus safety. Many parents stated that it was frustrating that their kids’ school life was devoted to the nonsense of these losers. The Delhi Police has promised that their cyber experts are looking at the origin of the emails and will take measures to increase their proactivity to stop this from happening. Schools were also advised to undertake a mock drill and do a better job of coordinating with their local police stations.

Final Thoughts

The false bomb threats have not produced any bombs, but they have produced fear and shut down normal school life in Delhi. Since there are no arrests made yet, authorities continue to try and keep everyone calm while enforcing that they are also taking these pranks seriously, while they will not tolerate the fear of panic these messages may have caused.
