As India faces hot summer days, political leaders are traveling across the country campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In this heated environment, Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra found herself in trouble over a comment she made about her source of energy while campaigning.
When asked by a journalist about how she maintains high energy levels during the difficult campaign, a video surfaced showing Moitra replying with the word "sex." The journalist burst out laughing, and the clip quickly spread on social media, causing both amusement and anger among netizens.
However, the journalist Tamal Saha tweeted to clarify that Moitra had actually said "egg" and not "sex," accusing some people of doctoring the audio clip to create controversy
Dear Mr @KanchanGupta , stop taking viagra in the morning, mistaking it as a vitamin capsule. At this age they don’t work, rather you only end up thinking about it. @MahuaMoitra said eggs and the 5.6’’ army happily doctored it. https://t.co/PPE1KjBCQq

When the video initially went viral on social media, it led to an outpouring of trolling and harsh criticism targeted at Mahua Moitra. Many people condemned her for what seemed like an inappropriate remark, not realizing that the audio had been doctored.

In another instance, Mahua Moitra found herself in the midst of controversy yet again. When questioned about the distinctiveness of Bengali perspectives on religion, she boldly proclaimed, "Bengalis are a superior race."
