Discover the most recent information uncovered by the Enforcement Directorate following their raid in Ranchi, Jharkhand, where they found a sizable cash stash at the residence of a close aide to a state minister.

Jharkhand News: The Enforcement Directorate raided numerous locations in Ranchi, Jharkhand, in relation to the Virendra Ram case, and they seized a substantial quantity of cash from Sanjiv Lal PS’s household help, which they gave to Minister of Rural Development Alamgir Alam.

Over 20 Crores Seized and Counting

To date, over 20 crores have been tallied. According to ED officials, counting is still ongoing. Recent searches conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) have centered on approximately six locations associated with Virendra Ram, the former chief engineer of the Jharkhand Rural Development Department, and his inner circle.

Virendra K. Ram, the chief engineer of the Jharkhand Rural Development Department, was arrested by the ED in February 2023 on suspicion of money laundering in connection with irregularities in the project’s execution. Video footage from the raid shows a stack of cash notes scattered throughout a room that is purportedly owned by Sanjiv Lal, the househelp’s personal secretary and Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam.

BJP Alleges Election Funding Scheme

“Corruption is not ending in Jharkhand. This money during elections indicates that there is a plan to spend this money in the elections. The Election Commission should take action on this,” said Jharkhand BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev.

The investigating agency is conducting simultaneous raids on nine locations, including Sail City in Ranchi. Early on Monday, an ED team searched Sail City in an effort to locate Vikas Kumar, an engineer with the Department of Road Construction. An additional ED team is conducting raids in the regions of Bariatu, Morhabadi, and Bodia.
