Ex-Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani Likely On Board Air India Flight That Crashed in Ahmedabad, Reports

Vijay Rupani, former Chief Minister of Gujarat, was likely in the plane crash near Ahmedabad airport on June 12, Thursday, as per the reports.

Ex-Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, was included among the 242 passengers, according to the sources. Rupani was the CM of Gujarat from August 2016 to September 2021.

The Air India Plane was carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members, on the London-bound flight as the flight was going from Ahmedabad to London on June 12, Thursday.

The flight crashed just after five to seven minutes after take-off in the residential area, and currently, the road is closed near the incident spot. 

No official statement on Ex-Gujarat CM

There is no official statement come out on the Ex-CM of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, but sources are claiming that Rupani was also among the passengers.

"Air India flight AI 171, a Boeing 787, crashed into a residential area called Meghani Nagar five minutes after taking off at 1:38 pm local time. Director General of the Directorate of Civil Aviation, Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, stated on the tragic incident.

The incident happened at around 1:38 pm, and immediately, an emergency service was sent to the incident spot with seven fire trucks. This horrific incident took place near Meghani Nagar and caught the attention due to the dense smoke in the air.
