Ghaziabad News: The Indirapuram and Vaishali project residents would be held liable for nearly Rs 400 crore, according to the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA). In this regard, the engineering division is involved in conducting an evaluation in order to recover from the allottees the higher compensation sum paid to the farmers.
GDA’s Purchase of Indirapuram and Vaishali Land 35 Years Ago
35 years ago, the GDA purchased the land in order to build the Indirapuram and Vaishali schemes. Farmers in Vaishali and Indirapuram received compensation at the time of Rs. 50 per square yard and Rs. 90 per square yard, respectively. Regarding the settlement amount, the farmers protested in court. The Supreme Court enhanced the payout to Rs 297 per yard while ruling in favour of the farmers after hearing their side of the story. The engineering division of zone six has since received a letter from the GDA’s land acquisition unit requesting its casting. The cost of land acquisition for the GDA will now likely exceed Rs 400 crore. The GDA will provide farmers with greater compensation in such a case. A review was also submitted to the High Court. The GDA began making thorough preparations before to the court’s ruling by determining the amount that will be awarded to the farmers. Only the allocators who reside in these schemes will be subject to this collection by the authority. A person may be required to pay five lakh rupees for a site measuring 100 yards.
GDA’s Condition and Potential Implications for Allottees
The GDA, while registering his plots and flats, puts a condition that if the farmer has to pay more compensation for the acquired land, he will recover this surcharge from the allottees. – Durgesh Singh (Tehsildar, GDA) said, ‘Wrote a letter to casting engineering section for increased compensation in Indirapuram and Vaishali. Only after this further action will be taken.’
