Now, a new Amrit Bharat Train is set to run between Assam and Tamil Nadu, offering budget-friendly travel with modern facilities.

Amrit Bharat Train to Run from Assam to Tamil Nadu

Indian Railways is launching the Amrit Bharat Train between Guwahati in Assam and Chennai in Tamil Nadu. This will be the first direct sleeper-class train between these two cities. Currently, no direct train connects Guwahati to Chennai, making this new service a significant development for travelers. The train will also pass through Kharagpur Junction, improving connectivity further.

Low Fares Make Amrit Bharat Train an Affordable Option

Amrit Bharat Trains are specifically designed to benefit budget travelers, including low-income and lower-middle-income families. These trains ensure comfortable travel at low fares while covering long distances. The introduction of this new train between Assam and Tamil Nadu will make interstate travel more accessible and cost-effective.

Amrit Bharat Train Route, Distance and Ticket Prices

The Guwahati to Chennai Amrit Bharat Train will cover a distance of approximately 2,600 km. Passengers can expect an estimated ticket price of around ₹900. However, Indian Railways has yet to announce the official fare details.

The train will stop at several important stations, including Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Brahmapur, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Eluru, and Vijayawada before reaching Chennai.

With its affordable ticket prices and direct route, the new Amrit Bharat Train will significantly benefit passengers, making long-distance travel between Assam and Tamil Nadu easier and more economical.
