“Good will happen in days to come”!, WB governor meets Amit Shah, Panchayat poll violence on agenda

Amit Shah meets Bengal Governor

West Bengal: Few hours after the conclusion of repolls in West Bengal Panchayat Governor CV Anand Bose met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at North Block. During a meeting with press after the meeting, Bose told reporters that ‘night is darkest just before the dawn.’ He also said “good will happen in days to come.” Around 60,000 personnel of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and other State Armed Police (SAP) forces were deployed at sensitive polling stations.

Political violence

 The repolling in West Bengal concluded today to choose representatives for nearly 928 seats across 22 Zilla Parishads, 9,730 Panchayat Samiti, and 63,239 Gram Panchayat seats.

The political tensions among the major political parties heightened during the course. Repolling took place in Nadia, Cooch Behar, South 24 Parganas and North Dinajpur districts.

There were instances ballot box and ballot paper looting and destruction during the pools. The major political parties assigned blame to each other over the violence. The counting will take place on 11 July.

Meeting in North block

It might be expected that war between political factions between will intensify as the polls will be counted in Bengal. The meeting between Shah and Bose might yield some will only further the intense scrutiny of TMC‘s administration in the state. The report has been submitted and the elections will shape the trajectory of political mood in the state for LS polls next year.
