Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Sonepat, Haryana, emphasizing the evolving challenges in India’s agricultural landscape. He pointed out that as families grow, farmland is continually divided, leading to smaller farm sizes. This, coupled with a growing population, poses challenges for the agricultural sector. PM Modi highlighted the need for farmers to diversify income streams alongside traditional farming practices, as advised by agricultural economists.
Haryana’s Growth Under BJP
PM Modi also expressed pride in the progress Haryana has made under BJP governance, particularly in the fields of agriculture and industrialization. He noted that the state’s industrial development has benefited marginalized groups, including the poor, farmers, and Dalits. The Prime Minister underscored the increasing support for BJP in the region, stating that as the election day draws closer, the Congress party is losing strength, while BJP’s popularity continues to rise.
Tribute to National Leaders
During the rally, PM Modi paid tribute to prominent figures like Sir Chhotu Ram and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. He highlighted Pandit Upadhyay’s lifelong dedication to serving the poor and affirmed that the BJP follows his ideals.
Praise for Jammu and Kashmir’s Democratic Participation
Modi also lauded the peaceful voting process in Jammu and Kashmir’s second phase of elections, commending the region’s commitment to democratic principles. He celebrated the record-breaking voter turnout in the first phase, seeing it as a sign of the people’s faith in democracy.
The rally ended with PM Modi reaffirming BJP’s confidence in securing a strong mandate in the upcoming elections, citing Haryana’s developmental achievements and the growing support for the party.
