Haryana Assembly Election – As Haryana gears up for the upcoming elections, voters are being urged to take proactive steps to ensure they can exercise their right to vote. District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan has emphasized the importance of verifying names in the voter list ahead of the elections.
Sarwan highlighted that possessing a voter ID card alone is not enough; voters must ensure their names are listed in the electoral roll. “It is crucial that all voters check their names in the voter list. Having a voter ID card is not sufficient if your name is not included in the electoral roll. In such a case, you will not be able to cast your vote,” he explained.
Importance of Being Listed in the Electoral Roll
The Election Commission has issued clear guidelines stating that even if a voter has a photo identity card issued by the Commission, they will not be eligible to vote unless their name appears in the voter list. This directive underscores the necessity of being listed in the electoral roll to participate in the voting process.
Voter Helpline App for Easy Verification
To make the verification process more convenient, the Election Commission has provided a search option through the Voter Helpline App. Voters can use this app to check whether their names are included in the relevant voter list. This tool is designed to help ensure that all eligible voters can confirm their status and avoid any last-minute surprises on election day.
The Haryana government and the Election Commission are working diligently to ensure that every eligible voter can participate in the democratic process without any hindrance. Voters are encouraged to take advantage of these resources to prepare for the upcoming elections.
