Lok Sabha Election 2024: Political Turmoil Grips Haryana: Calls for Floor Test Amid Alleged Violence

Lok Sabha Election 2024: In a dramatic turn of events, a Congress party delegation, led by Aftab Ahmed and B B Batra, is set to march to Raj Bhavan to demand a floor test. However, their attempts to secure an audience with Governor Bandaru Dattatreya have been thwarted, with officials purportedly representing the Governor’s office.

Political Turmoil Grips Haryana: Calls for Floor Test Amid Alleged Violence

Simultaneously, the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) has also urged Governor Dattatreya for a floor test, adding fuel to the political fire engulfing the state. This call for a test of strength comes amidst a backdrop of shifting alliances and accusations.

The incident allegedly occurred in Rajkhera village of Uchana

Adding to the chaos, reports emerge of an attack on JJP’s candidate in Hisar, Naina Chautala, and her supporters. The incident allegedly occurred in Rajkhera village of Uchana, the constituency represented by Dushyant Chautala in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. JJP has pointed fingers at Congress party workers, accusing them of instigating the violence and obstructing their entry into the village.

This political turmoil stems from the withdrawal of support by three Independent MLAs — Dharampal Gondher, Randhir Golan, and Sombir Sangwan — from the BJP government in Haryana. They have extended “outside” support to the Congress, significantly altering the political landscape. With the BJP government technically backed by 43 MLAs, including Independents, and the Congress bolstered by the support of these defectors, the stage is set for a high-stakes showdown in the Haryana legislative assembly.

As the political temperature rises, all eyes are on the Governor’s office, awaiting a decision that could determine the future course of Haryana’s governance.
