Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini will release the first installment of ₹150 crore to 70,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) today. This marks a significant step in providing affordable housing to the economically weaker sections of the state.

Funds to Be Transferred by March 20

Speaking in the ongoing Haryana Assembly budget session, CM Saini informed that nearly 70,000 beneficiaries have been verified under the scheme. The government will transfer ₹150 crore directly to their bank accounts. This statement was made in response to a question raised by MLA Shishpal Keharwal two days ago.

‘Modi’s Guarantee for Housing’ – CM Saini

Highlighting the transparency of the scheme, CM Saini stated, “A special portal has been created for the scheme, where applicants register themselves and are verified by the department. By March 20, the first installment will be credited to their accounts.”

He further emphasized that PM Narendra Modi guarantees housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing homes for the underprivileged.

With this initiative, the Haryana government aims to strengthen the housing infrastructure and ensure that financial assistance reaches those in need efficiently.

State Government’s Commitment to Housing Development

The Haryana government has been actively working to provide housing solutions for the underprivileged. The PMAY scheme, launched by the central government, aims to provide affordable housing to low-income families. The state government has set up an online registration portal, ensuring a transparent and hassle-free process for beneficiaries.

Additionally, the government is focusing on urban and rural development, ensuring that housing benefits reach people in both cities and villages. The scheme also aligns with the broader vision of ‘Housing for All’ by 2024.

The financial assistance provided under PMAY is expected to boost the construction sector, generate employment opportunities, and improve the standard of living for thousands of families. By ensuring direct benefit transfers (DBT), the government is eliminating middlemen and corruption, allowing funds to reach the rightful beneficiaries without delay.
