The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the severe cold wave is likely to persist over the next five to seven days. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions as the cold wave conditions could intensify further, especially during the nighttime. Haryana Weather Update: Dense Fog and Cold Wave Persist
Haryana is also under the grip of cold wave conditions, with a yellow alert in effect until December 21. Hisar recorded a chilling minimum temperature of 1.6°C, while dense fog enveloped isolated pockets of the state, significantly impacting visibility. In Karnal, the visibility dropped to just 100 meters, causing disruptions in early morning travel and posing risks to commuters.
The cold wave has resulted in temperatures in Haryana being 1-3°C below normal at many locations. Similar to Punjab, the minimum temperatures in major parts of the state are hovering around 6°C. The IMD forecasts no significant change in minimum temperatures for the next 4-5 days, ensuring the continuation of severe cold conditions.
