Weather Update May 9 2026: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir may experience moderate to heavy snowfall accompanied by scattered thunderstorms and lightning, especially during the early morning and late evening hours. IMD also predicted that the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh may experience severe heat and a possible rise of maximum temperatures by 2-5 degrees Celsius.
Delhi NCR, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir And Himachal Pradesh Weather Update
Several parts in Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Doda, Ganderbal, Jammu, Kathua, Kishtwar, Kulgam, Kupwara, Poonch, Pulwama, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba, Shopian, Srinagar, Udhampur, Sopore, Handwara, Bhaderwah, Tral, Awantipora, Akhnoor and Batote may experience bone-chilling weather conditions, accompanied by light to moderate rain and snowfall.

Punjab Weather Update
Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Pathankot, Patiala and Rupnagar are likely to experience scorching heat, with a slight possibility of light rain during evening hours.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Sangrur, Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar, Tarn Taran, Abohar, Malerkotla, Khanna and Phagwara may also experience similar weather conditions.
Haryana Weather Update
Maximum temperatures may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in several parts of Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Gurugram and Hisar.
Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Palwal, Panchkula, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, Sonipat, Yamunanagar, Bahadurgarh, Hodal, Tohana, Gohana and Safidon could see an increase of 2 to 5 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures.
