Delhi Weather: On Tuesday morning, several parts of Delhi-NCR received light to moderate rainfall bringing much needed respite from scorching heat. The temperature in the city has been brought down to 26 degrees Celsius which was earlier ranging around 40 degrees Celsius. Part of the reason for rainfall has been cited as excessive leftover moisture from the remnants of Cyclone Biparjoy. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), the National Capital will witness a partly cloudy sky with light rain/thundershowers on Tuesday. The city will continue to receive rainfall till June 25.
Anticipating Moonson
The rainfall has provided much needed relief from the heat that had engulfed Northern India for the last 3 months. This rainfall is a combined phenomenon of Western Disturbances in Himalayas and moisture from Cyclone Biparjoy. The weather department is yet to announce a date for the arrival of monsoon in Delhi. Usually monsoon reaches the national Capital around 27 June. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that there has been a upword jump in rainfall received in Northwestern India for the month of June.
