CM Tirth Darshan Scheme : The Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana (Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme) is an initiative by the government of Madhya Pradesh aimed at providing elderly citizens of the state the opportunity to visit important religious pilgrimage sites across India at no cost. Here’s a brief overview of the scheme:
Key Features:

- Free Pilgrimage: The government covers the entire cost of the pilgrimage, including travel, lodging, food, and local transportation at the destination. It is primarily aimed at those who cannot afford such trips.
- Destinations Covered: The scheme covers various religious and pilgrimage sites across India. Some notable ones include Vaishno Devi, Tirupati, Jagannath Puri, Dwarka, Rameshwaram, and Kashi (Varanasi). The government selects these destinations based on demand.
- Travel Arrangements: Pilgrims are transported mainly via trains, with special arrangements for comfortable and safe travel. The arrangements include AC coaches, medical facilities, and the presence of a guide during the journey.
- Eligibility:
- The applicant must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- They must be aged 60 years or above, though companions can be younger.
- The scheme is open to people of all religions.
