A horrifying incident from Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, in which a long-standing land dispute allegedly turned violent, has left one farmer dead and his daughter reported to have been assaulted. The incident has caused outrage across the region, with claims that a local BJP leader has been named in the case.
As per police sources and Aaj Tak, the incident took place in the Kumbhraj area, where the farmer was purportedly attacked by a group of men amid an argument about farmlands. The situation escalated, resulting in the farmer’s instant death.
Shocking allegations of assault
The violence did not stop there. In an exclusive footage of Aaj Tak that amidst the chaos, the victim’s daughter attempted to intervene and protect her father, but the attackers allegedly dragged her away, beat her, and tore off her clothes. These shocking allegations induced anger among locals to take swift action and deliver justice for the victim’s family.
According to the FIR lodged by the victim’s family, the names of several persons have been mentioned, including a local BJP leader, who allegedly ordered the attack regarding the disputed plot of farmland.
Police Investigation and Political Backlash
The Guna Police have filed charges of murder, assault, and attempt to outrage modesty under respective IPC sections. Officials stated that an investigation was underway and that all the perpetrators would be prosecuted regardless of political party affiliation. “We are verifying the allegations and obtaining evidence. Strict action will be taken against whoever is guilty,” stated the Superintendent of Police, Guna.
The incident has resulted in a political uproar with opposition parties accusing the ruling BJP of supporting its members involved in the crime. Local demonstrations began in the vicinity of the police station, where farmers and supporters called for the arrest of the men accused of the unspeakable assault and the provision of security to the victim’s family.
