Madhya Pradesh man keeps wife’s body in freezer, her family alleges murder

Bengaluru double murder case

After her brother stated in a complaint that she was slain by her husband, the latter claimed that she died of jaundice, and police on Sunday discovered her body at her home in the Rewa area of Madhya Pradesh.

The woman’s husband reported that she died on Friday, and he kept the body at home in the freezer as he awaited their son’s arrival from Mumbai for the funeral.

In order to determine the reason for the woman’s passing, the police sent her body for a post-mortem.

“We recovered the body of a 40-year-old woman, identified as Sumitri, after her brother Abhay Tiwari complained to us that his brother-in-law killed her in a hush-hush manner,” police inspector of the City Kotwali police station Vijay Singh told PTI.

Husband Bharat Mishra kept her body in freezer

“However, the deceased woman’s husband Bharat Mishra said he kept her body in a freezer at his house for their son’s return home from Mumbai for the funeral,” he said.

“Her husband told us that she was suffering from jaundice and died due to it on June 30,” he added.

Tiwari claimed in his complaint that neither his brother-in-law Mishra nor his family had told him or his family about the death of his sister, and that he only learned of it this morning, according to the inspector.

According to the complainant, Mishra beat his sister frequently, and as a result, she may have died.

“We have admitted the complaint and are waiting for the autopsy report to act accordingly,” Singh said.
