Mohan Yadav: Historic Performance in Pole Vault Event
In the men’s pole vault event, academy athlete Dev Meena secured the gold medal after clearing a height of 5.45 metres, setting a new national record in the process.
Another athlete, Kuldeep Kumar, also performed strongly and won the silver medal in the same event.
Athletes Qualify for Major International Standards
Officials stated that both athletes crossed the Commonwealth Games 2026 qualifying mark of 5.25 metres, strengthening their chances for selection in the upcoming international competition.
Dev Meena’s 5.45-metre jump also achieved the qualifying standard for the Asian Games, marking a significant milestone in his athletics career.

The Madhya Pradesh government has been emphasizing sports infrastructure, athlete training, and talent development through state-run academies and sports programmes.
