This move is expected to ensure better participation and support from local stakeholders, while also making the project more inclusive and balanced.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to perform the bhoomi pujan of the first phase of the Indore–Pithampur Economic Corridor on May 3, 2026, marking a significant step toward strengthening the state’s industrial infrastructure. The ceremony will take place in Sector-A of Nanod village in Indore, where key stakeholders and officials are expected to be present.

Mohan Yadav: Major step toward industrial growth

The project is being seen as a milestone in positioning Madhya Pradesh as a strong industrial base and an ideal investment destination. The corridor aims to enhance connectivity between Indore and Pithampur, which is already known as a major industrial hub, thereby boosting manufacturing and logistics activities in the region.

Project details and scale

The economic corridor will be developed at an estimated cost of around ₹2,360 crore and will cover more than 1,300 hectares of land. A 75-meter-wide and 20-kilometer-long road will form the backbone of the corridor, with development planned on both sides within a 300-meter stretch. The project is designed to accommodate industries, commercial establishments, and service sector units with modern infrastructure.

Boost to investment and employment

Officials indicate that the corridor is expected to attract large-scale investments and generate significant employment opportunities. By providing world-class facilities and better connectivity, the project aims to create a conducive environment for businesses and startups, further accelerating economic activity in the region.

Benefit to landowners

In a notable decision, the share of developed land to be returned to landowners has been increased from 50% to 60%. This move is expected to ensure better participation and support from local stakeholders, while also making the project more inclusive and balanced.

Integrated development approach

The corridor will not only focus on industrial expansion but also include supporting infrastructure such as logistics hubs, commercial spaces, and service facilities. This integrated approach is aimed at creating a self-sustained economic ecosystem.

The initiative under Mohan Yadav is expected to give a strong push to Madhya Pradesh’s industrial growth and reinforce its position as an emerging investment hub in India.
