MP News: A distressing incident has rocked Gwalior district in Madhya Pradesh, where a 15-year-old girl was subjected to a horrifying gangrape in the Bhanwarpur area. The assault, which occurred on Monday night, saw the victim’s parents witnessing the harrowing ordeal. However, it was only two days later, on Wednesday, that a formal complaint was lodged with the authorities.
Details of the Assault: According to reports, three perpetrators were involved in the heinous act, with one suspect already detained by the police, as confirmed by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rishikesh Meena. Shockingly, the assault took place in full view of the girl’s parents, who were also physically assaulted during the incident.
The victim’s family had recently relocated to the area, having settled there just a month ago.
Legal Proceedings and Investigation: Responding to the complaint filed by the victim’s parents, the police have registered a case against the three accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. Sections including 323, 376, 376d, 458, and 506 have been invoked.
A thorough investigation has been launched by the authorities to apprehend all involved perpetrators and ensure justice for the victim and her family.
In a distressing parallel incident, a 10-year-old girl residing in an orphanage faced a similar ordeal in Odisha’s Cuttack. The assault occurred while she was returning from school near the Cuttack railway station’s College Square area on Monday afternoon.
