• The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a resounding victory in the November 17 Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, winning 163 out of the total 230 seats.
• Chouhan, a dominant political figure in Madhya Pradesh for nearly two decades, resigned as Chief Minister on December 11, with Mohan Yadav chosen as his successor.
