MP News

MP News: A shocking case of deception unfolded recently in Madhya Pradesh. A young woman from Shivpuri, initially reported to be a NEET aspirant studying in Kota, staged her own kidnapping to extort money from her father.

The investigation by Kota Police revealed a meticulously crafted plan. The woman, along with her boyfriend, fabricated her enrollment at a NEET coaching institute in Kota. They then orchestrated a kidnapping scenario, complete with staged photos and ransom demands sent via WhatsApp. The hefty sum of ₹30 lakh was demanded to secure her supposed “release.”

Social Media Evidence Leads to Revelation

A crucial piece of evidence emerged in the form of a WhatsApp chat screenshot circulating on social media. The screenshot displayed staged kidnapping photos sent to the woman’s father. The messages demanded ₹30 lakh for her safe return.

Father Unable to Meet Extortion Demands

Despite threats, the woman’s father expressed his inability to arrange the exorbitant sum. He even pleaded with the “kidnappers” for bank details to transfer whatever amount he could manage.

Police Nab Accomplice in Indore

Following the digital trail, the investigation led the police to Indore. There, they apprehended one of the woman’s friends whose apartment was allegedly used to stage the kidnapping photos. This revelation further exposed the elaborate scheme.

Police Confirm Staged Kidnapping

Kota SP Amruta Duhan confirmed that the entire kidnapping drama was a fabrication. Stating that the woman had never been a student at the Kota institute, SP Duhan clarified, “There has been no kidnapping. As per the available proof, the kidnapping was fake. The woman was in Indore throughout.”

Plans to Go Abroad

The investigation further revealed that the woman and her boyfriend planned the entire charade to fund their dream of traveling abroad. As SP Duhan explained, “The woman, along with her two friends, planned to go abroad for studies. They needed money and demanded it from her parents through this staged kidnapping.”

Initial Concern and Support

Prior to the revelation of the staged kidnapping, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Minister of Civil Aviation, had spoken to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, requesting assistance in the woman’s rescue. Scindia had also assured the woman’s father of his daughter’s safe return.
