MP News: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that renewed discussions are presently underway that would oversee an elevated bridge alongside the state’s metro Corridor on the Narmadapuram Road.
The bridge that was planned initially to Misrod from the Barkatullah University is now likely to start from the Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (AMPRI). The change would necessitate an additional amount of Rs. 200 crore for the purpose of project expansion.

According to experts in the field of urban planning, the development of a parallel alternative road alongside the railway track may help in considerably cutting down on road traffic by as much as 40 percent on the Narmadapuram Road.
The parallel road is estimated to cost less than Rs. 50 crore while budget for the elevated bridge is Rs. 500 crore. The approach to include an elevated bridge alongside the Narmadapuram Road’s metro corridor could save the exchequer approximately Rs. 450 crore in public funds for a series of developmental projects. The project is likely to improve accessibility for commercial and residential areas on different sides of the railway line, including CP Nagar, Bawadia Kalan, Ishwar Nagar and Misrod villages.
Proposed Connectivity And Benefits
Construction of the four-lane parallel road would help in facilitating direct and seamless connectivity from Ganesh Mandir to Misrod and then to Mandideep. This would help in significantly easing traffic congestion on the Narmadapuram Road.
In another development, the Bhopal Development Authority and the Madhya Pradesh state government have announced a series of critical infrastructure projects. This includes four-lane elevated corridor in Ujjain, high-level bridge over Chambal River on Ater-Jaitpur Road, Mahakal Ropeway project, 111 new railway overbridges across Madhya Pradesh and elevated corridors in Gwalior (Swarnarekha River), Ujjain, Indore and Sant Hirdaram Nagar (Bhopal).
