MP News: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is making rapid strides toward the industrial development of the state, while also aiming to establish it as a model state in India. In alignment with this vision, CM Yadav has launched the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign across the state on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The campaign, which began on September 17, will run until October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. Under this initiative, Madhya Pradesh is once again passionately engaged in the mission of cleanliness.
CM’s Call for a Clean State
CM Mohan Yadav has urged citizens to take a pledge to not only keep their surroundings clean but also ensure that no one else contributes to littering. He encouraged all citizens to maintain cleanliness in their vicinity and inspire others to do the same. Yadav emphasized that the success of the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign relies on the collective effort of the people, who must become “cleanliness friends” to achieve the goal of a clean and healthy state.
Promotion of Zero Waste Events
Highlighting the efforts in waste management, CM Yadav announced that the state’s urban bodies are promoting zero-waste events. Composting units and material recovery units have been established in 401 urban bodies across the state to process dry and wet waste. These units are producing compost fertilizer, and 324 cities have been declared “Safai Mitra Safe Cities.” Additionally, the CM shared the establishment of a Waste-to-Energy plant in Rewa at a cost of ₹158.67 crore. The plant processes 340 tons of waste daily, producing 6 megawatts of electricity every day.
The initiative is seen as a crucial step toward making Madhya Pradesh a cleaner, greener state while supporting sustainable urban development.
