In a major step toward enhancing air connectivity in Madhya Pradesh, the state government has approved 292 acres of land for the construction of a new airport in Shivpuri. The approval, granted during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, has been met with widespread celebration in the region.

Currently, Shivpuri has only an airstrip, which will now be upgraded to a full-fledged airport under the supervision of the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Once operational, the Shivpuri airport will be capable of handling ATR-72 aircraft, significantly improving regional air travel options.

Jyotiraditya Scindia Welcomes Land Approval for Airport

The decision was welcomed by Union Minister of Communications and Guna-Shivpuri MP, Jyotiraditya Scindia, who expressed his delight and gratitude toward CM Mohan Yadav for moving the project forward. Scindia, who previously served as the Minister of Civil Aviation, had earlier facilitated the approval of airports in Guna and Shivpuri.

Boost to Development and Tourism

The upcoming Shivpuri airport is expected to be a game-changer for the region, enhancing business opportunities, connectivity, and tourism. The move aligns with the Madhya Pradesh government’s ongoing efforts to improve air infrastructure across the state.

With construction plans now in place, Shivpuri is set to witness rapid growth, with the airport serving as a gateway for economic and tourism development in the region.
