Madhya Pradesh has announced stringent measures against hotel and restaurant operators found operating hookah bars. The state government has issued a notification, outlining penalties for the operation of hookah bars, with provisions for up to three years of imprisonment and fines reaching up to one lakh rupees. The notification, released just before the New Year celebrations, grants inspectors and higher-ranking officials the authority to take strict actions.
