Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Mentions Significant Wave Change In Madhya Pradesh Ahead Of Assembly Elections

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed a rally in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, which is currently ruled by the BJP. She mentioned that there is a significant wave of change in the state ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. During her speech, she criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for insulting senior Opposition leaders and expressed her concern over the delayed response to the situation in Manipur, where grave atrocities on women were reported.

Priyanka Gandhi’s second visit to the state in 40 days

This was Priyanka Gandhi’s second visit to the state in 40 days. In her previous visit to Jabalpur on June 12, she launched her party’s campaign and announced five schemes, including financial assistance of Rs 1,500 per month for women, free electricity up to 100 units, and the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme. She also accused Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government of corruption, lack of job opportunities, and took a dig at Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union minister and former Congress leader who joined the BJP.

In the 2018 state polls, the Congress formed the government, but it collapsed after MLAs loyal to Scindia switched to the BJP in March 2020. This led to the fall of the Kamal Nath-led government and allowed Chouhan to return to power.
