MLA Shishir Shinde and deputy leader of Shiva Sena (UBT) has resigned from the party on Saturday. This comes as another setback to the party chief Uddhav Thackrey who lost the control of Shiv Sena and the position of Chief Minister to Eknath Shinde last year. Shishir Shinde said that he had not met Thackrey for the last 6 months and no significant responsibility was given to him since rejoining the party in 2018. He also said that he had wasted four years in Shiv Sena.
Shinde's rise to Stardom
In the year 1991, an India-Pakistan match was scheduled to be held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In order to stop the match from happening, Shishir Shinde along with some other party workers dug up the pitch of the stadium. After this incident Shinde became a topic of discussion across the nation.

Stint with Raj Thackrey
In 2005, Shishir Shinde left Shiv Sena to support Raj Thackrey when he left the party. After 13 years, he returned back to Shiv Sena in 2018 but was not given any noticeable responsibility. During Eknath Shinde's revolt, Shishir was given the position of Deputy leader by Uddhav Thackrey. Even after receiving a decorated position, Shinde did not get any special responsibility leading him to resign from the party.
