Manish Sisodia arrest: The Arvind Kejriwal government is facing a major setback with the arrest of DY CM Manish Sisodia. He was arrested earlier today by Central Bureau of Institution (CBI) in an alleged excise policy scam. The arrest does not come as a shock to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as Sisodia had earlier addressed a road-show in apprehension to this. Delhi chief also echoed the same sentiments and assured Sisodia that the party will take of his family.
Arvind Kejriwal reacts to Manish Sisodia’s arrest
Arvind Kejriwal said people will give a reply soon. Earlier, several AAP leaders had also claimed that they have been put under house arrest during Manish Sisodia’s interrogation. “Manish is innocent. His arrest is dirty politics. There is a lot of anger among the people due to the arrest of Manish. Everyone is watching. People are understanding everything. People will respond to this. This will boost our spirits further. Our struggle will get stronger,” Kejriwal tweeted.
Earlier, several AAP leaders had also claimed that they have been put under house arrest during Manish Sisodia’s interrogation.
“Manish Sisodia is an honest man. He has been serving the country. He worked hard for underprivileged students and transformed government schools in Delhi. Today he has been arrested. We are seeing how honest and nationalist people are getting arrested nationwide,” Kejriwal said.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann attacks Centre
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reacted to Manish Sisodia’s arrest and said that AAP is not scared. Attacking the Centre, the Punjab CM said those who are eating the money of LIC should go to jail.
“Those who are eating the money of LIC, those who ate banks’ money. Those who are being talked about widely in the nation must go to jail. AAP is not scared. We have come out of an anti-corruption movement,” said Mann.
Mann said that the arrest of Sisodia will halt the education of lakhs of children in Delhi.
“The arrest of Manish Sisodia ji is actually a contempt for the education of lakhs of children of Delhi..Sending the school builder to jail is part of BJP’s agenda,” the Punjab CM said.
Punjab CM Mann and Arvind Kejriwal had also visited Sisodia’s home after his arrest.
