Manish Sisodia: The hearing on Manish Sisodia’s bail request was postponed by a court on Saturday till April 5, according to news agency PTI. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is now holding Sisodia in jail in connection with a money-laundering investigation involving the Delhi liquor policy issue.
Special judge MK Nagpal announced the adjournment of Sisodia’s bail plea
As the attorney asked for more time to prepare a response to the ED’s reply filed on his client’s earlier bail application, special judge MK Nagpal announced the adjournment of Sisodia’s bail plea, according to PTI. The solicitor informed the court and requested some time to gather his materials and develop a thorough defence of the continuing case against Sisodia.
Manish Sisodia requests to permit him to take a few holy and spiritual books
The court announced earlier on Friday that it would rule on Sisodia’s request for bail in the CBI case on March 31. According to PTI, Sisodia was taken into custody by the ED on March 9 and is currently being held at Tihar jail in connection with a different case that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is looking into. In connection with an alleged case of corruption in the creation and implementation of the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy for 2021–2022, the CBI detained him on February 26. Manish Sisodia was placed in judicial custody by a Delhi court in a money laundering charge related to the Delhi spirits case till April 5. Manish Sisodia has pleaded with the court to permit him to take a few holy and spiritual books while he is under arrest.
ED was given notice by Special Judge MK Nagpal
According to news agency ANI, the court has ordered him to file an application in this regard. The court requested the Enforcement Directorate’s response on Manish Sisodia’s bail request last Tuesday. The ED was given notice by Special Judge MK Nagpal, who requested a response by March 25. The AAP leader’s ED detention was previously extended by the court on March 17 for an additional five days, until March 22.
