Mayor Shelly Oberoi chairs meeting with officials to begin development work in Civil Lines and Rohini

MCD News: Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Dr. Shelly Oberoi has been making constant attempts to develop each sector of the capital city, bringing out new projects. Aside from visiting different zones, she has also been holding meetings with the official to plan ahead. Recently, the Mayor chaired a high-level review meeting, in which she discussed ms faced by the residents of Civil Lines and Rohini areas with the officials and local councillors.

Highlighting the need for street lights and benches in sit-in parks, the mayor directed the officers to install them, giving a month-long deadline. She said that development work will be carried out by the MCD in collaboration with the Delhi government.

Councillors list problems faced by residents of Civil Lines and Rohini

The councilors of Civil Lines and Rohini shared the main problems faced by people in Civil Lines and Rohini. The proposal to bring out the maintenance of parks, encroachment in markets, illegal parking, stray animals, shortage of teachers in schools, etc was presented before the mayor. Apart from this, attention was also drawn to slope houses and compactors in various zones. The mayor demanded quick action, directing officials to carry out repair work at the earliest.

250 JEs to be appointed

Mayor Oberoi while giving necessary instructions to the officers for redressal of problems and other public facilities, said that due to many unauthorized colonies, the cleanliness system has gone haywire. She said that dumps will be removed soon and proper waste management will be introduced in these zones. To expedite the current work, she has also directed officials to appoint 250 JEs.
