The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is developing an Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Park near ITO located in the central district of the capital Delhi. The park will soon be opened for the residents of Delhi. On Sunday, Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi conducted a surprise inspection of the ongoing activities and instructed them to conclude the construction work by June 20. During the inspection, the officers also shared the roadmap of the park with the Mayor. MCD is developing this park spread over 4.5 acres.

MCD committed to make Delhi green
The Mayor said that the Municipal Corporation is committed to making Delhi green under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal. MCD is developing green marks under several phases. In the first phase, more than 150 parks are being developed all over Delhi. These parks hold the spirit of progressive India close and people will soon be able to visit here, the mayor said. Along with becoming a tourist attraction, these parks will strengthen the feeling of patriotism among people, she said.
‘Waste to Art’ theme park
These parks are being built on the ‘ Waste to Art’ theme. Approximately 200 tonnes of junk, including old trucks, cars, electric poles, and other types of waste is being used in the development of these theme parks. Apart from 10 sets of replicas, three galleries are being set up in the park that reflect India’s glorious culture and history, courage, and scientific achievements.
