Meerut News: Days after over 50 women were found positive with HIV Positive, now in a shocking News from Meerut, over 80 women have been found HIV Positive who had come for the delivery in the Hospital in the last 16 months. Alarmed at the situation, the Health Department has formed a team to probe the cause behind the number of HIV Positive cases in these Pregnant women.  These cases were confirmed by the Anti-Retroviral Therapy Center of the Lala Lajpat Rai Medical college of Meerut.

33 Cases of HIV Positive Cases Registered in Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital

These Medical colleges provide Treatment to the HIV affected women and their Newborns. The medical Report from the ART Centre mentions that in the year 2022-2023, the Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College of Meerut recorded 33 cases of HIV+ cases in the Pregnant women.

CMO initiates investigation

The City’s Chief Medical Officer said that we are looking into the matter and we’ll soon submit report for the cause of infections. The HIV tests of the New born children will be done after they turn 18 months old. Meerut’s Chief Medical Officer also claimed that a team of doctors will soon find the reasons for the rise in the number of infections in the city.
