Political Fallout and Outrage Over Brutal Rape at 'Ma Sharda' Temple in Madhya Pradesh
The authorities claim that the survivor also resides on the property where her parents maintain a flower and "pooja samagri" shop for pilgrims who visit the shrine. Notably, the 'Ma Sharda' temple is situated atop the Trikut mountain at a height of 600 ft from the surface in Satna district, around 130 miles from Chitrakoot. In the state that will have Assembly elections in four months, the episode has caused a political issue. K. K. Mishra, the state congress's media coordinator, asserted that the victim is a member of a tribal family. An cruel crime in the BJP-controlled state of Madhya Pradesh serves as a sombre reminder of the horrifying "Nirbhaya" case in Delhi, Mishra told IANS via phone. He urged the BJP's national leadership to take action against the state's home minister Narottam Mishra and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. “This is the BJP’s ‘swarna yuga’ in Madhya Pradesh where Chouhan calls himself ‘Mama’. He should immediately resign from the Chief Minister’s post on moral ground,” Mishra added.
