Mumbai Man Murders Live-in Partner, Uses Tree Cutter to Dismember and Boil Body

Mumbai Shocker: A 56-year-old man has been detained for murdering and dismembering his live-in spouse in their leased flat on Mumbai’s Mira Road. According to police sources, the man hacked up his partner’s body with a tree cutter and reportedly cooked some of her body parts.

Locals Alert Police to Foul Odor from Mumbai Flat

Manoj Sahani, the accused, had resided with Saraswati Vaidya, 36, in flat 704 of the Geeta Akash Deep building in Geeta Nagar Phase 7 for the last three years. Locals who reported a bad stench coming from the flat called the police. In Boriwali, Manoj has a little store. On Wednesday night, the Nayanagar police station received a complaint from building occupants who were complaining about the smell coming from the couple’s flat. Decomposing body parts discovered in his home raised the possibility that the murder might have happened three to four days earlier. When a crew arrived on the scene, they discovered the woman’s dismembered, fragmented body.

Deliberate Dissection of a Live-in Partner in South Delhi

“Manoj Sahani and Saraswati Vaidya were in a live-in relationship and used to live in the Geeta Akash Deep building. The couple had a fight over some matter following which the woman was murdered by her partner. Her body was cut into pieces with a cutter. When we reached the house and opened the door, we understood it was a case of murder and the suspect tried to hide the evidence, “Jayant Bajbale, deputy commissioner of police (zone 1) told India Today. Police are looking into the murder to determine its cause. Two suspects have been detained by the police, and he is being questioned. Aaftab Poonawala murdered his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar in May of last year. He dismembered her body and kept the fragments in the refrigerator for close to three weeks at his Mehrauli home in south Delhi before dispersing them over the city. On January 24, the Delhi Police submitted a 6,629-page charge sheet in the case. Aftab Poonawala has been charged by Delhi’s Saket court.
