Nashik News: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of the case, which has made the controversy surrounding the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nashik unit even worse.
On April 18, 2026, a high-level fact-finding committee, which includes retired Justice Sadhna Jadhav and former DGP B.K. Sinha will go to the Nashik facility. The panel will go to the sites and talk to the employees who were affected directly.
Legal Actions and Arrests
Nine FIRs have been filed with the police about the case. At least eight people, including team leaders and HR staff like Nida Khan, have been taken into custody.
The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) says that the accused are guilty of serious crimes, such as sexual harassment, rape, and hurting people’s religious feelings. Police are looking into the case more closely, treating it as a serious case of workplace misconduct.
DON'T MISS
Allegations Found During Undercover Operation
In a big turn of events, the Nashik Police are said to have carried out a 40-day undercover operation in the office. Women officers were sent to watch what was going on and collect evidence, which led to the arrests.
This method makes the accusations seem more serious and shows how important it is to gather evidence carefully in sensitive workplace cases.
Serious Claims Come to Light
The case includes disturbing claims that have been going on for almost four years (2022–2026), such as:
Sexual harassment and exploitation, including bad behaviour and claims of assault
Intimidation and mental coercion at work
Claims of religious pressure, such as being forced to do things or trying to convert someone
Victims have also said that HR didn’t respond to their complaints, which raises questions about how well internal complaint systems work.
TCS and the Government’s Response
Nashik News: TCS has put the accused employees on leave and started an internal investigation led by COO Aarthi Subramanian. The chairman, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, said the accusations were “deeply concerning.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a full investigation and told a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to make sure everyone is held accountable.
The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), which represents workers, has also called for a nationwide check of safety and compliance with the POSH Act in all TCS offices.
