On the occasion of National Technology Day 2025, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta paid glowing tribute to India’s scientific and technological community. Highlighting the nation’s progress and self-reliance in cutting-edge innovations, Gupta reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening India's global position in science and defense.
“11 मई – भारत के आत्मबल और वैज्ञानिक प्रगति का स्वर्णिम दिन। भारत तकनीकी के क्षेत्र में प्रतिदिन नए आयाम छू रहा है... राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी दिवस पर महान वैज्ञानिकों, इंजीनियरों को नमन...,” tweeted CM Gupta.
A Day of National Pride
National Technology Day marks India’s 1998 Pokhran-II nuclear test success, a moment that cemented India’s strategic autonomy. Every year on May 11, the country reflects on its journey from being a technology importer to becoming a global innovator.
Rekha Gupta’s message echoed this sentiment, calling the day a symbol of “scientific courage and self-dependence”. She hailed the contribution of India’s engineers, scientists, and institutions like DRDO, ISRO, and BARC for making India a technologically empowered nation.
Rising Global Tech Influence
Rekha Gupta also noted that India is no longer just a developing country in the tech sector but an emerging leader on the world stage. “Each satellite launch, digital breakthrough, and innovation is a testament to India’s growing influence,” she emphasized.
Delhi, under her leadership, is also investing in technology-driven solutions for governance, education, and public welfare—aligning local progress with national aspirations.
A Salute to Scientific Legacy
The Chief Minister's tribute came with a broader call to empower young minds and innovators. “Let us inspire the next generation to dream big and innovate for the nation,” she said, urging educational institutions and governments to promote STEM fields actively.
National Technology Day is not just about celebrating past achievements but also about nurturing a tech-enabled future, a vision that leaders like Rekha Gupta are working to realize across India.
