One year of AAP in Punjab: From Mohalla clinics and School of Eminence to Investors Summit & Drug-free Punjab, read key achievements of CM Mann Government

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today congratulated his fellow Punjabis on completion of AAP government’s one year in office. During his greetings, the Punjab CM listed all the guarantees and achievements of the government in the last one year. CM Mann also said that his goal is not the next election, but to build a prosperous future for the next generation.

The central theme of AAP’s Punjab election campaign was the promise to enhance Punjab’s education sector. Along with launching the School of Eminence, the AAP govt in Punjab has given its nod to the implementation of a scheme for training of teachers abroad. Another key achievement of Mann government remains establishment of 500 mohalla clinics in the state.

Mohalla Clinics

The Punjab Chief Minister stated over 15,00,000 people have benefitted from the Mohalla clinics in the state.

CM Mann inaugurated 500th ‘Aam Aadmi Clinics’ (Mohalla Clinics) in Punjab on January 27 in the presence of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. The Punjab government is committed to fulfil the aspirations of the people of the state, the Chief minister said.

School of Eminence

The CM also gave a brief description of School of Eminence under which the students will be encouraged to work on their skill set, he said. Inspired by Delhi’s Schools of Speicalised Excellence, 117 government schools in Punjab will be elevated to ‘Schools of Eminence’, the Punjab CM had announced earlier. These schools will provide quality education to children from class 9 to 12 who will be at par with students from all over the world.

Investors Summit

The chief minister hailed Punjab’s Investor Summit and said that industrialist from across the world are ready to invest in Punjab. The Punjab investors summit saw investment in nine key sectors including agri-food processing, textiles, healthcare, education, tourism, information technology and start-ups.

Drug-free Punjab

Making Punjab a drug-free state is one of the major challenges faced by the Mann government. But with its prompt response and various policies, the Punjab govt has managed to nab drug mafias and peddler. Last month, the chief minister asked Deputy Commissioners Commissioners of Police and SSPs to further accelerate the three-pronged strategy of “Enforcement, de-addiction and prevention” for making Punjab a drugs-free state.

Special request to NRIs

The chief minister said that the government in Punjab is dedicated to the Punjabis and is committed to make ‘Rangeela Punjab’ happen. He made a special request to NRI Punjabis, asking them to visit the state in a collective attempt to enhance the quality of life.
