PM Modi likely to visit Varanasi on July 7, projects worth 7000 crore to be inaugurated

Among all the projects to be inaugurated by PM Modi Manikrnika Ghat redevelopment remains the most ambitious for both economic and spiritual reasons.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to make a visit to his Parliamentary constituency Varanasi on July 7. Prime Minister will address a public meeting in Wazidpur and will then proceed to inaugurate projects that have been completed. He is likely to announce and lay foundations for new projects worth 7000 rupees.

As per reports, the government of Uttar Pradesh are making list of projects to be announced for which foundation stones will be laid by Modi. The 63 km Varanasi-Jaunpur patch of Varanasi-Sultanpur-Lucknow highway has been completed by the National Highways Authority of India(NHAI) and will now be dediczated or public use after inaguration.

New projects to be announced

The foundation stone for the restoration and redevelopment work at Manikarnika Ghat will be laid down by the Prime Minister. The Uttar Pradesh government plans to make the iconic Manikarniak Ghat modern and easily accessible for cremation of the dead. The redevelopment of Ghat will be funded through the CSR fund with National Commission for Clean Ganga already green lighting the project.

BJP’s Kashi regional unit president Dilip Singh Patel gave an update on PM’s visit, “PM will address public at Wazidpur, 10 km from district headquarters on the airport road, on July 7 and we have started preparations to make the programme a grand success. A meeting of party office-bearers was held in which responsibilities were assigned pertaining to the preparations.”

The final list of projects ready for inauguration and foundation lying will be released soon.

Projects ready for inauguration

Aside from the Varanasi-Jaunpur patch of the highway being developed by NHAI there are some other projects that will be opened by the Prime Minister. Many residential buildings of Central Institute for Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology(CIPET) are ready for inauguration. Aside from CIPET, a Gurukul style school in Kardasa will also be inagurated by PM Modi.

The redevelopment work at Manikarnika Ghat will be the most ambitious project to be undertaken after release of new funds for the holy city.
