Punjab CM attacks Centre, questions PM Modi’s relationship with Adani

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann attended the meeting of Engineering Association of PSEB in Patiala on Monday. Here he addressed about 2000 officers and employees of the Electricity Board, including cabinet ministers, power minister and legislators. He accused the central government of harassing the state in the matter of coal arrival in Punjab.

Central government not allowing Punjab to bring coal directly

CM Mann opposed the decision of the Central Government on the arrival of coal in Punjab through Rail-Ship-Rail (RSR). He said that the central government is not allowing Punjab to bring coal directly by rail. Coal has to be first taken to Pradippuri port, then after being unloaded at Mudra over Srilanka by sea ship, it has to be brought to Punjab again by train. He accused the central government that the decision of this route has been taken only to benefit Adani.

The chief minister said that he has told the Union minister that Punjab uses coal to generate electricity and use it for agriculture. Maan asked from where the train comes at the time of taking wheat to the central government. Mann said to strongly oppose this route. He accused the central government of taking this decision to benefit Adani. Also mentioned the friendship between PM Narendra Modi and Adani and business in Australia.

Mohali Investment Summit

Mann said that an investment summit is to be held in Mohali on February 23-24. All the big businessmen are from Punjab, but earlier businessmen had to sign MoU with only one family, whereas now MoU will be signed with 3 crore people of Punjab. He said that all kinds of problems will be solved if the youth get employment.
