Punjab: CM Mann announces eight modern coachings centres for UPSC preparations

In a strong display of unwavering dedication to providing quality education to each ward in Punjab, the government has been making numerous attempts by introducing new policies that aim to strive for the overall development of youth. In the latest, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced eight modern training centres with new-age technology where students who aspire to appear in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams can take tuition-free of cost. The move aims to enhance the state’s representation in central services such as IAS, IPS, IRS, and others.

CM on the declining representation of Punjab in central services

Chief Minister Mann recently chaired a high-level meeting in which he expressed concern over the representation of state youth in central services, despite having enormous talent. He said that youths from the state were not able to crack these exams due to their first priority being moving abroad, and secondly due to the lack of quality coaching centres in the state. He said that the government is motivated to introduce a reversing trend, prompting the youth to partake in exams held by the UPSC.

Quality Training for Youth

The Punjab Chief Minister said that quality education will be provided to students in these centres free of cost, for clearing the UPSC Exams.

“The state has a glorious legacy of producing ace bureaucrats who have made huge contributions to the socio-economic development of the country by discharging services in various capacities. This rich tradition has to be upheld in future too,” he said.

CM Mann said that the goal is to ensure Punjab youth sits at coveted positions in both state and Central Government services.
