24×7 healthcare services, free treatment, special ‘Nigah Langar’ (food processing unit) and ALS ambulances… Mann government fulfills ‘health duty’ on the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

At Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom anniversary, the Mann Government sets a new benchmark in service with 24x7 healthcare, critical care units, and dedicated public welfare facilities.

Millions of devotees thronged Sri Anandpur Sahib on the sacred occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the ‘Chadar of India’ who sacrificed everything for the protection of religion and humanity. During this massive gathering, the Bhagwant Singh Mann government of Punjab set an example of service and dedication, highlighting its unwavering commitment to public health. The government has established a robust infrastructure of 24-hour emergency and advanced healthcare services to ensure the health of pilgrims, demonstrating that a “healthy Punjab” is not just a dream but a reality on the ground. On the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Punjab government is committed to serving the Sangat at Sri Anandpur Sahib. For the convenience of pilgrims, 24-hour emergency healthcare services are being provided in Ropar, Kiratpur Sahib, and Sri Anandpur Sahib. In addition, special critical care facilities have been established in Sri Anandpur Sahib and Ropar.

The government has ensured 24-hour emergency services at key locations like Ropar, Kiratpur Sahib, and Sri Anandpur Sahib. Additionally, 24-hour critical care facilities have been made available in Sri Anandpur Sahib and Ropar, ensuring immediate expert assistance in case of any serious medical emergency. Additionally, the government has demonstrated its top priority for public health and hygiene by providing sensitive services such as free sanitary pads to women, disposal machines for hygienic disposal, and dedicated baby feeding rooms for mothers. This unprecedented arrangement demonstrates the government’s vigilance and preparedness for public safety.

To ensure easy access to healthcare facilities for the congregation, the Health Department established a comprehensive network. In addition to existing clinics, 19 new Aam Aadmi Clinics were established at the congregation sites, bringing the total number to 40 (21 existing + 19 additional). All these clinics provided services 24 hours a day, allowing devotees to receive routine OPD and other essential diagnostic services without delay.

Thousands of devotees directly benefited from these arrangements made by the Hon’ble Government. According to the status report as of November 22, 2025, the number of people availing of the Health Department’s services testified to the success of this great service: 1,111 patients were examined at these clinics, and 99 high-quality lab tests were conducted completely free of charge. Furthermore, under the ‘Nigaah Langar’ initiative, 522 individuals underwent eye examinations and 390 patients received free spectacles. Taking a step forward in serving humanity, a patient’s cataract surgery was also successfully completed at the District Hospital, Ropar.

To effectively address any emergency, the government deployed a robust ambulance network. 24 Basic Life Support Ambulances, along with 7 Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances, were deployed at strategic locations around the clock. Additionally, the dedicated helpline number for medical emergencies, 98155-88342, remained operational. As part of this public service, special blood donation camps will be held at Virasat-e-Khalsa on November 25th and at Panj Piara Park on other days.

This excellent arrangement demonstrates that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, not only respects heritage and faith, but also considers service to the people its true religion. This initiative demonstrates that for the Mann Government, power is a means of service, and it is fully dedicated to the health and well-being of every citizen. These services will remain active in serving the Sangat in the coming days as well.
