In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police has arrested Shehnaz Singh alias Shawn Bhinder, a transnational drug lord wanted by the FBI-USA for his role in an international drug trafficking network. Singh was a crucial figure in a global narcotics syndicate that smuggled cocaine from Colombia into the USA and Canada.

The arrest follows a major crackdown on February 26, 2025, when U.S. authorities apprehended four of Singh’s associates in the United States.

The arrested individuals were identified as:

Amritpal Singh alias Amrit alias Bal

Amritpal Singh alias Cheema

Takdir Singh alias Romy

Sarbsit Singh alias Sabi

Fernando Valladares alias Franco

During their arrests, U.S. authorities seized a massive cache of drugs and firearms, including 391 kg of methamphetamine, 109 kg of cocaine, and four firearms from their residences and vehicles. Following the bust, Shehnaz Singh absconded to India, attempting to evade law enforcement. However, the Punjab Police successfully tracked and arrested him in Tarn Taran, marking a crucial victory in the fight against international drug trafficking.

The Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, in a tweet, highlighted the state's zero-tolerance approach to drug trafficking and organized crime. The Punjab Police reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with international law enforcement agencies to ensure that Punjab does not become a safe haven for drug smugglers and criminals.

This high-profile arrest underscores the growing cooperation between Indian and international law enforcement agencies, reinforcing efforts to dismantle global drug syndicates. Further investigations are ongoing, and authorities are expected to take strict legal action against those involved.
