“I bow my head to the hukamnama issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. I will present myself not as a Chief Minister, but as a humble Sikh, walking barefoot in obedience,” Mann stated. Bhagwant Mann also sought an apology in advance for January 15, when the President of India is scheduled to visit Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar to attend a conference. He clarified that any potential absence or inconvenience on that day should be understood in light of his commitment to honouring the directive of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

“The directive of Sri Akal Takht Sahib is supreme for me. It has always been so and will remain so in the future,” Mann said, reiterating his unwavering faith in Sikh religious institutions. His statement reflects a strong message of humility, religious devotion, and adherence to Sikh traditions.

The Chief Minister’s remarks have drawn attention across Punjab, with many viewing the statement as an assertion of respect towards Sikh religious authority and values. Political observers note that Mann’s response underscores the deep cultural and spiritual connection between governance and faith in the state.
