The Bhagwant Mann said it arrested 133 drug smugglers as part of its ongoing anti-drug campaign, marking 574 days of its Yudh Nashian Virudh drive. According to the police, the operation also led to the recovery of heroin, ganja, intoxicant pills and drug money.
The latest action is part of the Punjab Police’s continued efforts to target drug networks and curb the circulation of narcotic substances across the state.
Bhagwant Mann: Heroin, Ganja and Intoxicant Pills Recovered
According to the Punjab Police, personnel recovered 2.3 kg of heroin, 120 kg of ganja and 632 intoxicant pills during the crackdown.
Police also recovered ₹1,100 in suspected drug money from those arrested during the operation.
The recoveries were reported as part of the enforcement action carried out under the ongoing #YudhNashianVirudh campaign.
133 Drug Smugglers Arrested
The Punjab Police said a total of 133 individuals involved in drug smuggling were arrested during the latest phase of the campaign.
The operation forms part of the state’s sustained enforcement against people allegedly involved in the supply and distribution of narcotics.
16 Individuals Counselled for Rehabilitation
Alongside enforcement action, the Punjab Police said 16 individuals were counselled and persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.
The move highlights the rehabilitation component of the anti-drug campaign, alongside arrests and seizures aimed at disrupting drug supply networks.
